Tiago De Ales, founder of Cour des Arts – Gallery, Restaurant and Museum – as well as Haras Petit Hallet, is spearheading an innovative project that promises to transform the Belgian art scene. Scheduled to open in 2025, Cour des Arts will be Belgium’s first museum dedicated to urban art and will showcase various forms of artistic expression, including contemporary art, sculpture and photography.

The idea for the museum was inspired by a visit from renowned Brazilian artist Alemão Arts, a leading figure in urban and contemporary art for over 20 years. With exhibitions in more than 50 countries, including the Louvre, Alemão Arts is internationally recognised. His visit to the space and the first exhibition organised at the restaurant inspired the creation of a museum celebrating urban art and other forms of creative expression. This project is being developed in collaboration with Alemão Arts, combining artistic experiences and visions to build a unique space in Belgium.

The Cour des Arts will comprise more than 4,000 square metres of covered space, including a cosy restaurant, a 1,000-square-metre hangar dedicated to exhibitions of murals and works of art, and a gallery currently under construction that will host exhibitions of contemporary art, street art, sculptures, photographs and more. The complex will also include a children’s area and a strong link to the equestrian world, through horse breeding and an equestrian centre specialising in show jumping.

Purpose of the experiment

The museum pursues an important goal of democratisation and social inclusion, offering a space for emerging and established artists alike, while integrating people with physical disabilities and promoting art as a tool for expression, accessibility and equality.

In an increasingly fragmented world, the Cour des Arts aims to be a space for connection through art, highlighting the importance of diversity and cultural exchange.
The official inauguration will take place in 2025, with a major art festival in Petit-Hallet, Belgium.

The Cour des Arts will not only be a museum, it will be a movement, a meeting place for artists and art lovers of all kinds.
